Reimagining vision and visualisation in achieving success in systems engineering
Recently I wanted to provide an abstract on the paper “Vision and visualisation in achieving success” I’d written a few years ago. This came about because Robert Collins and I had been discussing the importance of visualization within systems engineering.
I used Google NotebookLM to generate this infographic from the paper. It was a fun exercise showing what Google NotebookLM can do with a single paper and how the infographic can be used as a visual abstract for potential readers to quickly get an overview of the paper.

Google NotebookLM also provided a succinct note on the paper:
Successful systems engineering requires a clear vision to avoid pitfalls like over-reliance on tools or high costs. A central repository manages complexity, while visualisation of data and metrics proves value to stakeholders and ensures project transparency and coherence.
Thanks to
Rob Collins for discussing and sharing his use of Google NotebookLM when doing research.
Sandra Moscoso and others at The Upskilling Labs who suggested Google Notebook LM when doing research on problems.
